PARTICIPANT REVISIONS FOR 2008 CODY PROGRAM

1 The Interview Process is mandatory for all past present and future CODY applicants

2 The age of the CODY participants is from 8 to a senior in high school.

3 The animal will be sold at the annual sale and the youth will receive 50% of the previous year sale average for the category they are in 2007 average =(Open Heifers--$516) (Bred heifers--$621) and (Yearling Bulls--$650) or 50% of the sale which ever is greater The breeder receives the balance of the amount. The sale order will be determined by the show results.

4 There will be a 10% commission on the sale of the CODY animal to be split by the participant and donor to pay for advertising catalog sale management and auctioneer costs.

5 The participant must show the animal in at least two shows this show season

6 The number of CODY animals will be restricted to 10 open heifers 10 bred heifers and 5 yearling bulls for a mixed total of 25.

7 Animals must be transferred to the participant.

8 The entry fee for the HMLBA sale will be waived.

9 The HMLBA annual membership of $25 will be deducted from the sale of the animal for any second year or repeat CODY participant.

10 Animals should be in the youths care by April 19th

If selected as a recipient of an animal in the C.O.D.Y. Program I agree to the following:

1.  Complete a mandatory safety program.

2.  Pay for all expenses associated with the animal (vet, feed, etc.). If financial assistance is necessary the participant should contact a CODY committee member as soon as possible. Any animal that is viewed during the show season or is brought to the final sale in an unacceptable condition will be disqualified and returned to the donor immediately. You will not be reimbursed for any of your expenses. 3 members of the CODY committee will make this determination.

3.  Be responsible for the animal and its well-being. If your animal dies due to neglect or abuse you will reimburse the donor for 100% of the value of the animal.

4.  Exhibit the animal in at least 2 shows between May 1st and October 1st.  You must show and sell in the final sale at HMLBA sale in Lebanon.

5.  Make monthly progress reports via- phone - email or letters of your animal to your donor.

6.  Check in at the final show and sale with a designated Committee Member. You must provide current health papers (dated within 30 days of the sale) for each animal. If your calf is a bull over one year of age, you must provide a semen test (dated no more than 20 days prior to the sale) from your local veterinarian.

7.  Provide entries and breeding information (Photo’s and Winnings) by August 15th to Jack Glendenning, 24300 McDonald Drive Lebanon, MO 65536.  This allows enough time for paper work to be sent to sale management to catalog your animal.

8.  Be on site with your animal for show day by 12PM (noon) and groomed by 2:00PM.  Be on site by 8:00AM for stall cleaning and have your animal groomed and ready for buyers to view by 10:00AM on sale day.
